World Darts Trophy 2018 Machin Defends title






Defending WDT Champion Peter Machin headlines a trio of Australian players featuring in the BDO World Darts Trophy at the Preston Guild Hall, UK commencing on Wednesday May 30.

South Australian Peter, won a terrific battle last year to overcome Martin Phillips and become the first Australian to be crowned World Dart Champion . Peter also won the Australian Grand Masters in 2017 and was part of the All-conquering WDF World Cup Team, Peter will play England’s Jamie Hurrell on Wednesday Night.


Victorian Justin Thompson will join Peter in the first round and faces Belgian Andy Baetens on Friday June 1 in the evening sessions opening match. As the number one ranked player and Australian Rep at the WDF World cup along with Peter will be looking forward to a successful WDT. The winner of four Grand Prix events and the current Asia/Pacific Singles Champion will be looking to build on his international successes.

Flying the Flag in the Ladies section will be international star Corrine Hammond who will face Lakeside World Professional Champion Lisa Ashton on Friday June 1.. Corrine has been enjoying international success while based in England with wins at the British open, the Czech open and finalist in Denmark and more recently the polish open.
