Dynamic Duo Set for Moama
Two of the world’s top tournament stage officials are heading to Moama
for the Australian Open Darts to be held at the Moama Bowling Club on
August 1-3 2019
Marco Meijer from the Netherlands is one of the busiest and most respected darts referees on the circuit, having called the scores at each of the last 8 Lakeside World Championships. He is a regular face and voice at some of Europe’s biggest events, including the Dutch Open and Zuiderduin Darts Masters. He was on duty at the 2017 WDF World Cup in Japan and the 2018 WDF Asia-Pacific Cup in South Korea and will be a guest of Darts Australia for the first time.
Richard Ashdown from England has become the established front man upon the BDO/WDF stage. He has officiated at every WDF World and Europe Cup since 2008 and has been the host of the Lakeside World Championship, Winmau World Masters and BDO World Trophy for the past 6 years. Having previously worked with us at our 2014 National Championships in Adelaide, ‘Little Richard’ will be on the big stage here in Australia once again as our masters of ceremonies.
Rodney Bessell Australia’s most experienced Tournament Referee completes the extraordinary line-up of stage talent for this tournament. Rod will also be the main tournament referee for the Australian Championships which follow this prestegious Event.
